A few years ago I heard the quote, "Leap and the net will appear." Ever since I started my photography business that quote keeps reappearing and presenting itself in my head. But, being the cautious conservative I am, I haven't been ready to take the full leap. I was basically standing on the ledge with a harness on looking down trying to muster the courage.
Today, I took off the harness and jumped.
OMG! I quit my job! As in, I walked away without giving notice and decided it was time to pursue photography full time. Dave and I have been working our budgets for months and we're still not sure it's all going to work out, but sometimes you just have to leap to try.
Wish us luck; we're going to need it.

Wow, congrats! That quote is right on: you now have to make things happen.
I know how hard you push yourself - I know you will make this all come to fruition!
Congratulations...this is huge. I have seen your work and I definitely think you will be fine!
Now get out there and get to it! :)
WOW--that is fantastic!! If you see yourself as being successful, you WILL be! Have no doubt in your ability to make this work!
Wow, I'm proud of you for taking the leap. You are going to do great. Don't let the sudden free time scare you- soon you will be booked lots! =) Have a super first day of being your own boss! xoxo
PS We found a present for Dave...
Congrats!! You'll be awesome
To quote everyone else, "Wow", amd "Congrats"!
Somtimes following a dream means taking chances...and you guys will do awesome! Plus, since you quit your job, you'll probably feel a bit more "free" and motivated to put energy into photography full-time and not feel so de-energized from your former job!
Way to rock Muncie by the way.....you really stuck it out---I have to admit, i've never, ever raced in rain and I think I would have pulled the covers back over my head. Awesome job Meredith!
GOOD FOR YOU! SOO many people compain and moan and are just miserable - and don't make changes!! YOU will be fine - even better! I did the same thing - took a huge leap and left my 'big' job and started my own - with baby twins - I was nuts, yes, but it all paid off - and I am much happier! GOOD luck! Jen H.
Congratulations on taking the leap! If you think you can, you're right.
