Thursday Thoughts and The Upcoming Marathon

Yeah, my marathon is a mere 3 days away, and yeah, I guess I'm ready. My short and slow runs this week have felt completely effortless and I'm thankful to be carb-loading (I do love me some carbs). So, bring on Chicago! My last name is Gordon if you want to track me or look up my results online before my official Chicago Marathon post. My goal time is between 3:30 and 3:35 chip time, of course.

Now on with the Thursday Thoughts!

It's been a few weeks since I've done Thursday Thoughts. Mostly because I'm running out of questions. I might have to buy a book to help me out, but I thought I would ask the Internet first. So, today when you answer the following questions, please, if you can, start your response with at least one question you'd like to see asked on Thursday Thoughts. And it is my recommendation that you ask an open-ended question so we don't get just yes or no answers.

1. Have you ever been arrested for anything? If yes, what? (You don't have to reveal it if you don't want to).

2. Do you plan on dressing up for Halloween this year? And if yes, what?

3. If you could be any animal what would you be and why?

4. What would you be willing to do for a million dollars?

5. If you could ask one question to a current person in politics, who would it be and what would you ask?

1. I have never been arrested, but I have got two warnings for jaywalking.

2. I am going to a Halloween party next weekend and I'm thinking of going as a go-go dancer if I can find my kick-ass boots.

3. I've always wanted to be a dolphin because I love to swim and dolphins don't really have any preditors excepts nets.

4. I'm not really sure what I would do for a million dollars. I'd probably would be willing to do just about anything that wouldn't compromise my morals or ethics. Hopefully, I'll be able to EARN a million dollars someday.

5. Another good question Meredith (why thank you!). I think I would ask Pat Tiberi who is running for congressman out of the 12th district in Ohio why he is running a smear campaign since he has been re-elected several times and the 12th district has always been a strong Republican district?

My one question: Why are Indians such cool people?

1. Close to be arrested, but I turned myself in during high school. Got almost arrested in college for starting a riot, but got that resolved when the police came.

2. no

3. I would be James Laurinitis (a.k.a "The Little Animal") so in a month from now, i would know what it felt like to crush a wolverine

4. make out with Roseanne or Starr Jones

5. Kasich. I would ask him what will it take for him to come back into politics and run for the Senate

My One Question: What did you want to be when you grew up?

1. No, but had one "incident".

Some friends and I were playing lazer tag at our church in college. There was an event going on in the church, so we moved out to the parking lot.

A little while later, some woman pulled into the parking lot, screamed something, then squealed her tires pulling out. We went back to playing, until two police cars pulled in, lights flashing. We walked over to find them laughing.

Apparently, the woman had called 911, saying there were people with guns in the parking lot. The one officer said that when he first saw us in the dark, he thought we had laser sighted guns (The little red lights on the *very* fake-looking guns). After two more backup cars pulled in, they basically told us we weren't doing anything wrong, but to be careful, because there were crazy people around. :)

2. I better figure out something, since I'm going to the party with Meredith...

3. I'd be a cheetah so I could finish the marathon this Sunday in under 4 hours.

4. Umm...maybe run 52.4 miles?

5. I would ask Bob "Sham"ansky where he lives. :) Actually, I would probably ask Ted Strickland if he'll continue the current funding level of the Ohio biotech industry and keep it growing.

I'm right there with you Noj. Why won't Kasich return?

good questions this week, Meredith!
1. no--just a parking ticket.

2. probably not for trick-or-treating, but maybe for our church's fall festival party. I don't know. maybe an OSU cheerleader if I can fit into my plaid skirt, since I'll probably dress the boys in OSU jersey-type shirts. Actually, I also have a vintage OSUMB uniform that was my dad's--hat and all, but I doubt I'd have the nerve to do that, if it even fits.

3. probably a dog, since I've always had one as a pet and they are so loyal and loving. or an elephant because they are cool.

4. Oh, I don't know! I guess I'd agree with Meredith on that one.

5. I guess President Bush, and I'd ask what's really going on with the war in Iraq. (I haven't had really strong feelings one way or the other, but you know there's always way more to the story then you ever hear.)

Question: what do you imagine it's really like in heaven and hell?
