Today is day 23 of the March Run Streak. Last week I had a totally kick-butt week.. But this week has been a little tougher. Now granted, I wasn't so smart and did a speed workout on Monday, the day after my long run. And the weather has been in the mid-80s all this week (in March!!!). So the other three runs of the week have been kinda crappy. My calves, shins, ankles, and feet are starting to hate me for doing all this running. I've now completed over 100 miles for the month which means I'm averaging just under 5 miles per day. I know there are only a few days left, but I'm really lacking the motivation.
What do you say to yourself to get yourself out the door? Any suggestions for motivation? How many miles is your maximum for a single month?

When I did my streak back in 2008, I'd tell myself just to go out and do that one little mile. Often it would stretch to longer.
Right now I do a lot of "easy/recovery" runs with only a couple hard workouts a week. I actually structure an easy run the morning after a hard afternoon workout to "stretch out the legs" with no expectations of pace, just to enjoy running.
I'm hoping to hit 200 miles this month, which will be my highest ever!
Nice blog!

I sleep in my run shorts sometimes. It makes early morning runs that much easier. Plus, the best ones actually make really comfy pajamas
having a partner in crime is the ideal motivation. i feel awful that i let you down on the streak, but i know that if i had kept going, my running for the rest of the season would have been in doubt.
i think i had a couple of 300+ mile months when i was training for my last 50. those were good times!
