What to do when you're unemployed

So...my days are long. Really long. I've been getting up around 6:30 because that's when my eyes open. I usually watch the morning's top news stories and then head out for a run when Dave goes to work. Then I spend a little time sending out a resume or two and then I have hours and hours of complete boredom. So what have I been doing with all this time?

Not much.

Today I worked on my quilting and knitting. Yep...I'm 83 but I look damn good! :)

I've also been doing a lot of cleaning. Here's your cleaning tip for the day. To make your glass shower doors look incredible, wash them with the Mr. Clean sponge and then use RainX to keep the hard water stains away. I also use a squeegy after each shower.

Any ideas to keep my brain moving?

Throw away as much stuff as you can. Go through your closet & Dave's and donate all the clothes you haven't worn for at least a year. Make your Christmas lists. Paint another room. Design your spring flower beds. Does that help? =D

PS Or, like someone I know who shall remain nameless, learn how to play blackjack & go win at your nearest casino! ;)

The nearest casino is out of state. Remember? Ohio doesn't allow gambling. Or, I could just win at the big Powerball jackpot tonight!

Volunteer to help coach a local high school XC/track team! Though I suppose that could become a problem when you get a job.

Read a lot of books? Pay for one movie and then keep sneaking into others all day long? Spend countless hours combing the internet for new job postings?

My mom recently retired and she's teaching someone English and taking a Red Cross training course so she can go down to New Orleans (or nearby) and help.

Whatever you do, enjoy this time, because soon you'll have a job again and you'll be missing all this free time!

have you seen steve mcqueen in the great escape?

clean out an extra room in the house, get a baseball and a glove, have dave lock you in the room and bounce the baseball against the wall and catch it with the glove. over, and over, and over and over.

that's how he spent his free time...

=)

Wow, I was wondering how old you were! Hee. Get some day old bread and go feed the pigeons...

Actually, Meredith already does coach a local high school track team. Good idea, though!

And I also like the idea of outrageously complicated dinners. Not that I have any selfish motivation in that one... :)
