So I got my first tattoo last fall. It was to celebrate running my 10th marathon. It is a 26.2 with 10 hash marks underneath it. I'll post another picture when I'm not blogging from my phone. Anyway, I'm thinking of getting another one. I'd like it to say marathon but I want it to be spelled in Greek since the first marathon was in Greece. Dave wants me to make sure it's spelled correctly before I get it. Problem is, I don't anyone who's Greek. So, if you're Greek please leave me a message on how to spell it. Or send me an email with the letting. Someone at gymnastics told me I should get it in capital letters because it will look more Greek. Plus it needs to be the noun.
Can you help me out?

I am not Greek and can't help but just have to say your latest Tweet cracked me up. Enjoy the movie!
Looks like there is some question - Wikipedia had Μαραθῶνος for part of "battle of Marathon" or under the listing for the city, (Demotic Greek: Μαραθώνας, Marathónas; Attic/ Katharevousa: Μαραθών, Marathṓn).
I also ran it through babelfish and got μαραθώνιος (same first letter, it's just not capitalized by babelfish)
.. seems about right: Mu, Alpha, Rho, Alpha, Theta... then some stuff I don't know :-/
i cant help at all, but i do think its a great idea for a tattoo! are you going to add more hash marks to your original tattoo to keep it up to date? out of curiousity...where is your tattoo, and where would you get another? i am thinking of getting one, and im debating where to put it.
My first tattoo is on my right wrist and it's REALLY small. I plan on adding onto it every 5 marathons. The second one I'm planning on putting on my other wrist a little bit larger.
Can't help with the Greek, but I agree that online somewhere must have the answer....
I like the tat on the wrist--and i like the 26.2 with the slashes. I still can't figure out exactly what I want to get or where.... big decision.
