I went to the local middle school/high school cross country race a few days ago. The Ohio High School Athletic Association has a rule where no athlete, regardless of sport, is allowed to wear any jewelry during competition. This includes earrings, hair pins, etc, and even includes the rubber bracelets like "Live Strong" bracelets. However, runners are allowed to wear watches. When I coached you weren't allowed to use them to pace like putting it on a beeping mode. But, I noticed in the race the other day that several runners were wearing Garmins?
So, is that cheating?
